This wasn’t the path she would’ve chosen for herself. The hills are too steep and the valleys too low. She would’ve chosen the easier way—the softer ground, the gentler slope. Even now, when she kneels alone before God, she prays for a route of escape. Bitterness and resentment call to her from the shadows, beckoning her to follow. The woman warrior for Christ will not answer; she recognizes the voice of sin and rebellion. Instead, she turns her eyes toward the Lord who formed the heavens and the earth. She holds tight to His everlasting love; she trusts His sovereign hand. He is the lamp unto her feet. Darkness will not prevail. Thank you, Jesus. You are The Way.
