This month, let us pray for those who are victims of domestic abuse. While we typically think of women and children, there are also the elderly and many men who suffer in silence. My own brother dated a woman many, many years ago, who hit him with her fists or objects anytime she became angry. The relationship ended, thankfully, but it was a trying time for him and those of us who knew what was going on.
Victims of abuse know that the pain doesn’t stop just because the abuse stops. Many suffer for years with the scars their abuser left behind. Pray for their healing and wholeness–body, mind, and spirit.
If you know of a situation where abuse is taking place right now, you can call law enforcement, the National Domestic Violence organization, your local abuse shelter, or Family Protective Services.
Thank you for your continued prayers for these victims. We pray that the captives are set free, that justice reigns, and that Jesus is Lord of EVERY life. For it is in His Mighty Name that we pray. Amen.
